Since the beginning the Icebreaker was the only Ice Dam Prevention Product that was specific designed to prevent Ice Dams and provide a quality Leaf Protection system on the market. There have been others that have tried and others that say they offer Heated Leaf Protection, do they work? Some do and others do not. Here is what I do know Aluminum is 26% more conductive of Heat than Steel and probably a lot more than Plastic or PVC. The Direct Contact of the Heat Tape also helps transfer heat as in the extrusion in the Icebreaker on the front side of the product. Also, the SRHT Self Regulating Heat Tape comes in various wattages more watts more heat, ours is 10 watts plf with a 10-year Manufacture Warranty compared to 8/6/4/2 watts per foot and lessor Warranties. We have Installed our heat panels to the “Leaf Guard” System product with great success matching the color of the existing gutters. We have been serving the people of Minnesota with the best Gutter Protection systems since 2010. Our customer base goes from Duluth to Rochester, including all of the seven-county metropolitan areas of Minneapolis and St. Paul. One of our furthest installation projects was a Rain-Harvesting System in Silver Bay, north of Duluth. This was a customized project for a cabin with no well water. To the South in Spring Valley, The AWA “Icebreakers” and gutters were installed in an old Victorian House with many Ice Dams issues due to the size and unique architecture of the home. We installed AWA “Icebreakers” on the South Side in 2014. Our client was so pleased with the installation and performance of our products we were called back to add additional “Icebreakers” to the Northside of the home in 2016.
